Remember Apexi makes two filters for the Z. A Super intake and a Power intake. The article you are refering uses the Power intake. I purchased the Super intake and I have been very happy with it. Spongerider sells both intake if you need to find someone who sells the.
Can the apexi intakes be cleaned?
I asked the same question, and the answer I got was not raelly. About all you can do is take a brush and knock out the larger bugs and dirt in the filter. I have not read anything about cleaning it, but after looking at my filter I would think that I could rinse it out with water, let it dry and be ok. Am I going to do that when its time to clean it? No, honestly Ill prbably buy another filter, most likely the JWT. Only for this reason, it can 100% for sure be cleaned and reused. Instead of spending !100+ everytime I need to clean my filter, I can just clean and reuse it. I would recomend getting the JWT/Stillen filter because of the enviroment you live in. More than likely you'll be needing to clean your filter a lot more often than me or someone in an area thats not so dusty. So you'l be saving yourself a lot of $$ by just cleaning the filter you buy rather than getting a new one each time. Anyway, tahts my opinion, hope it helped.
